📢 RSV vaccination update
Many patients have recently received a letter about the RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) vaccination and, understandably, have been contacting the practice to arrange an appointment.
We would like to reassure patients that our RSV vaccination programme is already underway and has been running for some time. The recent letters are part of a national communication and do not mean that there has been a change to how our practice is inviting patients.
We are continuing to invite eligible patients for their RSV vaccination in phases, based on our clinical capacity, and we are working through the eligible cohort as quickly as we can.
As we approach the busy autumn and flu vaccination season, demand on our vaccination clinics increases significantly. RSV and flu vaccines cannot be given together, so appointments need to be planned carefully.
If you are eligible for the RSV vaccine and have not yet been invited, please do not worry. You remain eligible, and we will contact you when an appointment becomes available.
We kindly ask patients not to telephone the practice solely to request an RSV appointment, as this adds considerable pressure to our phone lines and may make it more difficult for patients with urgent medical needs to get through.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue to deliver this vaccination programme safely and efficiently.
