Dr Ellis Rickwood MB, ChB, MRCGP, DRCOGDr Rickwood qualified at Leeds University in 1990. After completing his training scheme he became a partner at Crossley Street Surgery in 1996. Dr Rickwood is our Senior Partner and is our business and finance lead GP, overseeing the running of the practice. He leads our GP team who provide GP and specialist substance misuse services at HMP Wealstun, HMYOI Wetherby and Adel Beck SCH. He also has an interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine and provides joint and soft tissue injections at the surgery. |

Dr Mark Salisbury MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFSRHDr Salisbury grew up around the Chester area, then attended Leeds University. After qualifying as a GP, he worked in quite a few areas across the North of England and in London before becoming a GP at Crossley Street. He is involved in training GPs and working with the other local Wetherby GP practices. He is interested in Dermatology, Musculoskeletal problems/Joint injections and can perform the Epley manoeuvre. He is also currently the practice lead for Frailty and Mental Health. Outside of work Dr Salisbury has two very energetic young children and is usually trying to wear them out. He is a keen follower of Liverpool FC. Dr Deborah Lawrence MBBS, BSc, DFFP, DFSRH, DRCOG, MRCGP, PGCMEDr Lawrence graduated from London in 2004, and moved back to Yorkshire when she got married, to work in Leeds and subsequently Harrogate hospital. She became a GP at Crossley Street in 2012 and has been a GP partner since 2020. She works 3 days a week as a GP, plus 2 days a week as a Clinical Education Tutor at Hull York Medical School. In addition to general GP work, her role at Crossley Street includes being lead for women’s health (including coil and implant fitting), Diabetes and Respiratory illness, and she also works as a prison GP. Dr Lawrence loves to travel and is passionate about improving access to doctors worldwide. Over the last few years, she has worked in Malawi, Mozambique and on a medical ship along the Amazon River. Outside of work, she is a mum of two boys, both of whom are both keen cricketers, so spends most of her evenings and weekends watching or playing cricket. She loves to ski, play the piano, and walks in the country. Dr Gill Kitchen MB, ChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFPDr Gill Kitchen is a proud Lancastrian, trained in Leicester and moved to Yorkshire in 2005. She is a keen sports watcher; from cricket to tennis, you can guarantee she will be watching any event! Qualifying as a GP in 2007, she worked initially in Bradford and then moved to Wetherby. Her specialist interests are in dementia, palliative care, and cancer care. She became a partner in 2020. Dr Jessica Jones MB ChB, BSc, DRCOG, MRCGPDr Jones qualified from the University of Bristol in 2007 and trained in hospitals around the South West. She undertook her GP training in Bath and moved back to Yorkshire in 2019 to be nearer her family. Dr Jones currently works 3 and a half days a week at Crossley Street Surgery. She has an interest in GP training and enjoys training the GP registrars and is also the Adult Safeguarding Lead. Outside of work she plays netball and is a Governor of her children’s primary school. Dr Emma Rivers MBChB, MRCPCHDr Rivers qualified from Birmingham University in 2010 and after working as a junior doctor in Newcastle moved back to Yorkshire where she's from originally. She has a special interest in child health as she undertook Paediatric training before becoming a GP. She also has an interest in Women's Health & fits pessaries. In her spare time Dr Rivers enjoys walking her dog, singing in a choir, and is an avid Leeds United fan! Doctors in Training (GP Registrars)
The practice is approved for GP training. Fully qualified doctors with at least 2 years experience in hospital medicine will be in the practice to gain experience of general practice. Part of this training may include videotape consultations to aid analysis of the doctor's consulting technique. You may be offered an appointment to see a GP Registrar or you may be asked to consent to video taping of your consultation. You are under no obligation to participate in this if you prefer not to.

Our Practice Nurses
Practice nurses are available from Monday to Friday during surgery hours for appointments. They can help you with blood pressure checks, dressings, minor injuries, immunisations, family planning advice, travel advice, cervical smears, minor skin lesions, general health checks, dietary advice, and routine blood/urine tests.
Sister Sharon Lax (Nurse Manager)
joined the practice in 2006 and became nurse manager in 2017. She works part time undertaking the full range of treatment room procedures and is trained in all long term conditions.
Sister Sarah Hayes
joined the practice in 2017. She works part time three days a week undertaking treatment room procedures.
Sister Lyndsay Savery
joined the practice in 2019. She works part time three days a week undertaking treatment room procedures.
Sister Sarah Rushforth

Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist
Our Healthcare Assistants, Debbie Kaye, Rusty Ripley, and Andrea Pallister provide a support service to the nursing team and can take blood samples, take your blood pressure, perform ECGs, NHS healthchecks, and other support services.

Practice Manager
Sarah-Jayne Martin, our Practice Manager carries out a wide variety of duties helping the doctors to run the practice efficiently. If you have any queries, suggestions or problems please address them to the Practice Manager.
Data Quality Manager
Eliza Venizelou is our Data Quality Manager. She manages the Data Quality Team, who are responsible for carrying out audits and ensuring our processes are followed correctly. She also manages our secretarial team.
Reception Manager
Anita Downie is our Reception Manager, with responsibility for managing the reception team.
Senior Administrative Staff
Senior Data Administrator
Beth Martin is our Senior Data Administator and assists Eliza with the responsibilites of the Data Quality Team. She also oversees the members of the Data Quality team.
Secretaries & Data Quality Team Members
Andrea Stockdale is our Patient Administrator and deals with a number of patient related tasks including registrations and deductions.
Katy Forster is our Clinical Coder and processes all of our hospital letters.
Lois Etheridge and Gillian Fox are our Data Administrators and assist the Data Quality Team in carrying out audits and clinical coding.
Jayne Jennings and Monika Rabajczyk are our Secretaries.
Receptionists
Our receptionists - Alyson, Annu, Jo, Liz, Lizzy, Marie, Sarah, Sherelle, and Tania - have a demanding and difficult job. They will always attempt to deal with your request as efficiently as possible, though this can occasionally take some time. Please be patient, especially at busier times.
Pharmacy Team
Richard Laybourn is our Pharmacist and carries out medication reviews, medication audits, as well as dealing with a variety of prescribing queries.
Erica Carpenter is our Pharmacy Technicians and deals with prescribing related work such as hospital discharge medications, repeat prescription alignment and electronic repeat dispensing.
Primary Care Network Team
Wetherby Primary Care Network (PCN) is made up of five local practices: Crossley Street Surgery, Wetherby Surgery, Collingham Church View Surgery, Boston Spa Surgery, and Bramham Medical Centre.

The Primary Healthcare Team
The doctors work in close contact with district nurses, district midwives and health visitors. If you think you need home nursing care, please ask your doctor. In addition to these staff a wide range of other health care professionals contribute to the services provided in the surgery and the community.
